How to Create a Microsoft Entra External ID Tenant in Azure
You can easily create a Microsoft Entra External ID tenant from the Azure portal. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Sign In to the Azure Portal
Go to https://portal.azure.com and sign in using your Microsoft account.
Step 2: Create a New Entra Tenant
- Go to Marketplace, In the search bar, type “Microsoft Entra external ID“ and select it.
- Select the plan as Microsoft Entra External ID> “Create“.
- Under the Basics section, enter Tenant Name, Domain Name, and Country/Region .
- Under the Add a Subscription section, select the subscription and resource group.
- Finally, review and create
After a tenant creation, you can use the Microsoft Entra Admin Center with External ID directory to manage it.
What Can You Do Next?
After creating your Entra External ID tenant, you can:
- Register applications (web, mobile, or APIs)
- Configure user flows or custom policies for signup, sign-in, and profile editing
- Add identity providers like Google, Facebook, GitHub, etc.
